Re the 'Macchi... a little disappointing. The wings (except for the anorexic tip tanks) are correct (finally!), and undercarriage, etc are nice, but the fuselage has shape and dimension issues.

Judge for yourselves - attached pics show the KP kit (Dark Grey) and Supermodel kit (Light Grey) against plans by Richard J. Caruana (Scale Aviation Modeller International, Volume 5 Issue 7, July 1999)

I am waiting on the Litaki Aermacchi kits. If they are as good as everyone thinks they will be, great. If not, I willl have to mix the KP wings with the Supermodel fuselage (plus Kiwi Resin MB-339CB conversion set) to make a decent kiwi.

(Note: The Supermodel kit is also sold under the Italeri brand now)

It's true Evan, they pulled the model by the wings and retired the rudder 😁😁🤷🏻‍♂️

With a KP / Supermodel (Italeri) mix a good Mb339 can come out
👍🏻

Actually the drawings should be checked against a scale pic of the real kite taken from its side firstly. It happnens the drawings have the mistakes very often. As a result we are misled trying to correct a model parts. I'm not a jet fun but you inspired my , Evan. :) I have to look if my mate in the local HS, has the KP kit.

Ahoj my friend!

Yep, you're right about checking drawings. In this case they appear 'right' to me. Even just looking at the kit fuselage it looked too short in the nose to me. New Zealand 'Macchis have a longer pointed nose too, for which an optional part is provided in the KP kit, but it still looks too short when compared to the real thing. The tail definitely needs to be taller too.

(Glad to have inspired you on jets! Some are beautiful :) )

According to the drawings I posted, all tails drawn (A, AD, K, C) measure 25.5 mm from rear tip of tail to fuselage in 1:72 scale.

Right, will do my friend!
I've only used Techmod decals once before I think, if I remember correctly, they're extremely thin!

To be honest these aren't too thin I would say. These are as these should be. A thin marking is better than a thick one. But the colours the Techmod used for printing weren't too flexible IMHO. What is more most of the Techmod decal sets offered are just printed a long time ago. Being storaged for a such long time they lost their already little flexibility for sure. As a result you have to be careful with them.
