The McDonnell Douglas RF-4E Phantom II with tactical serial number 57-6913 (originally assigned from the US fiscal year block 67-6913/c/n 4639, operated as 57-6913) was a reconnaissance aircraft serving with the 501st Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron (501 Hikotai) of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) based at Hyakuri Air Base.
