About to start a Bf109E-3 and wanted to try a mix for RLM02 found on-line. The mix as follows, 1/1/1
  • XF22 RLM Grey
  • XF23 Light Blue
  • XF59 Desert Yellow
To my eye it was too yellow when compared to the Gunze/Mr Color paint (red arrow) which is said to very good. I added another drop of XF22 and came up with this

What say ye, close enough?

I guess you meant the RLM 02 ~ FS 36165 rather than the RLM22. The RLM 22 was the schwarz what means just the black. ;)

Fixed. I got caught up with the bottle label.....02

I was almost sure it's the typo. My favourity colours for the RLM 02 are either the Humbrol 84 ( for the brownish tinge ) or the Humbrol 240 for the more greyish-greeninish tone.

My Tamiya 02 mix is XF22:1 + XF49:1

Might want to fix the thread title as well.

Done, thanks Andy. I think I have and used that mix as well. A lot easier and I think I used it in the British version after they got it from the French. Off to check my mix file.................

EDIT: have it and will use it. Again, thanks Andy
EDIT the Edit: Andy Crimea_River Crimea_River the mix I mentioned in the first post was in the Britmodeller link I posted so the mixes there aren't a for sure, for sure. Maybe Casey had a typo....I dunno. I found my British E-3 build and I used your mix so will continue to do so

Excellent, glad to help. I've been slowly tracking my mixes as I zero in on the ones I like so let me know if you need others.
