Okay well here we go.

1st and second day:

We arrived on Thursday morning to set the camp up and it was a good think we arrived before 9 in the morning because by then there were thousands of people searching for a good spot. We got the same spot as last year and it worked out perfect for us. We set up all our tents in a circle and put the canopies in the center and made a grill area. Some other campers bitched because we took up so much space. To hell with them if they decide to wait till late in the day to show up.

Well anyhow we spent that day and night BBQing on the grill and drinking and listening to CD's on our little Stereo that I brought.

The next day on Friday we woke up and continued with the BBQing and drinking and music until it was early afternoon where we left the stages to drink some more while listening to live music. Yes there was a lot of drinking involved. When is there not at a Rock Festival though.

The first band I watched was Hinder. I was a little skeptical but it turned out to be a great show and got the Rock im Park jives going.

Later I watched Velvet Revolver. Velvet Revolver put on an excellent show. There energy was very positive and it really set the tone for the rest of the weekend. Slash was great old usual Slash wearing his signature top hat. They even played a few covers including Stone Temple Pilot's Vasoline and Guns N Roses's Its so Easy. My favorite song they played was "Falling Down"

Right after Velvet Revolver came Korn. Korn's show was very good. Definatly better than there showing las year at Rock im Park. The highlight believe it or not was that Joey Jordison from Slipknot is filling in on drums for Korn during this tour. Shortly after playing "Shoots and Ladders" they even covered the end of Metallica's "One". There is video of that below as well. It was really neat to see Joey behind the kit for Korn. Ofcourse by the time they played my favorite song from them "Blind" my voice was pretty much gone from screaming all the songs with them.

Shortly after Korn was finished playing I left and went to the Club Stage whihc was an indoor small Arena type stage. The first band that I watched there was As I Lay Dying. This was a great show and they had really good sound. Before this concert I had not heard to many of AILD's songs but I will surely check them out more.

Next came Chimaira. I was not very impressed at all. I expected more from them. There sound was very poor (Ill blaim the techie for that) and all you could hear during much of the concert was the very loud drums droning everything else out.

Next came Dragonforce. I was very impressed with them. Great Show! The guitarists are amazing. They are very very fast. I think they could give Yngwie Malmsteen a run for his money. They are all very good showmen as well. The show reminded me of typical 1980s band and even like Van Halen in there best times. They were jumping up and down and running around like David Lee Roth.

Right after them came Megadeth. The show was great and they played a good mix of old and new songs. Dave Mustaine sounded great as well. I was a bit dissapointed that they did not play a few songs that I had hoped for. All in all great show!

Here is some videos of the shows on this first day. Unfortunatly I could not find any good Rock im Park videos of good quality so I posted the Rock Am Ring ones that were shown on TV and are good quality. Rock am Ring is the same show as Rock im Park and takes place at the same time with the same bands just playing on different days so the shows a basically the same.

I only posted good quality videos so if I could not find any at all, I did not post any.

Okay now Day 2. Unfortunatly I did not have my camera on this day.

This was a light day and a bit chill because there were only a few bands that I went to see on this day.

Tried to sleep in as much as I could but with all the people outside drinking and blashing music it was quite difficult. So I got up and joined them!

Anyhow after a few hours of drinking and BBQing went back to the stages.

First thing was Billy Talent. This band is fun! I really enjoyed the show and it was great to see them live. If you have not checked them out you need to. They are just fun and the music is good.

Next we headed out to My Chemical Romance. This show as well was pretty good but unfortunatly I did not watch it too much. I was there for the whole thing and heard all the songs but for most of it I was in the back with some friends after meeting some people and just talking and drinking. It was fun though.

Later that night we went to watch Linkin Park. I am not a fan of them and look at them as a Boyband with guitars. I will say that the show was good and the songs they played off of there new album I did enjoy and will probably check them out and listen to the whole new album.

Shortly thereafter we headed over the next stage to watch Evanescence. I did not get most of it because the crowd was too big and we were stuck in the back. The Bass was too loud as well though and drowned out a lot of it.

Here are some videos as well all are Rock am Ring as well.

Day 3

This day was quite intense. Everybody is woreout because of the crazy 2 days prior. Spent most of the day on one stage due to the great bands playing on it.

First we went out and saw Lamb of God. Very good show and I was very impressed with the quality of the live show of this band. The frontman knows how to get the crowd into the show to be part of it.

Next came From From Autumn to Ashes. This young band was quite good as well. At first I had never heard there music and they are quite Emo which I am not a fan of but I will check out there music later to see more into it.

Shortly thereafter it was announced that the next band Papa Roach would not be playing afterall due to the singer Colby having lost his voice at a the ealier concert at Rock am Ring. The other bands agreed to come on ealier and play a longer set.

Since Papa Roach did not play Killswitch Engage came on ealier and played a bit longer. Great show! The band is amazing and the frontman is truely a talented singer and really put on a good show.

Then came Type O Negative. I really enjoyed the music they played especially "Black No.1" and "Christian Woman
but I have to admit the show was a bit boring.

After Type O came Stone Sour. They allways put an amazing show and they did not let us down this time. Really great band and the show is full of energy and really gets you going. I am really glad I got to see them again, especially when he had the crowd singing the songs with him and sometimes for him. It really was great.

Next came Smashing Pumpkins. This as well was well worth it. Since this was the reunion tour they played mostly a "best of" set and it was very very good playing all there old classic hits. It was a good break from the Heavy Metal as well and gave us a chance to chill out. Billy Corgons voice was excellent and the show was very good.

Machine Head was playing on the other stage when we returned from the Main Stage from waching Smashing Pumpkins. The small bit I saw of Machine Head was really good and I hope to see them again to watch a full show of theres.

Finally came the high light for me even though it was a band that I have seen before. Slayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Slayer was simply amazing as usual. You could tell they really were into the show and enjoying themselves. They played all there good hits plus a bunch more. The energy was absolutely amazing! The Bass Drums pounded you into the ground and you could feel every inch of it in your chest! Kerry King ofcourse one of the greatest metal guitarist of all times blew us all away!

You should see my Metallica shirt from the 1989 concert I went to....

If they still gave out backstage passes for the oldest scraggly looking shirt, I would have a life time supply of them. Unfortunatly it no longer fits me, even though I did buy it way oversized so that I could wear it as long as possible. Finally gave out on me about 6 years ago.

let me guess 1989, was it the ...and justice for all tour shirt? I got a new metallica shirt but the graphics are starting to wear off in the wash. I try and buy new band shirts every year when the harbour festival starts.
