I don't know. But in Russian it means Red, not Beautiful.

So just to clarify (for my own simple curiosity), "Krasno" didn't mean beautiful in old Russian? In modern Russian it means "red", but what about the old dialect?

Yes they were not built by the Commies but they are still beautiful buildings as it is.

Well I am not sure about that, defiitely "krasný" means "beautiful" in modern Czech.
