You Need Apple TV, unless you can get it free somehow, by tapping into a neighbor or friend. I got it just for this series, but I may keep it after it's over.Where can you watch this? Don't tell me I need another subscription.

That's becoming increasingly popular, buy a one month sub, watch the entirety of a program and then cancel. Once Masters of the Air is fully finished I will get Apple TV for a month to watch it all (plus Hank's Greyhound) and then cancel. I canceled Netflix permanently about six months ago, and I don't miss it at all. I also canceled Prime, so now we have regular cable (mandatory in order to get best internet deal), Disney Plus and BritBox. The latter is the best. You Need Apple TV, unless you can get it free somehow, by tapping into a neighbor or friend. I got it just for this series, but I may keep it after it's over.
The most-cited criticism is the egregious insertion of the Red Tails into the 8th AF, about 1,200 miles from their base in Italy. Just absurd. Some comments use "pandering" to describe it. (There was a 332nd display at The Mighty 8th Museum in Savannah, don't know if it's still there.)
Just finished Episode 6.
Interesting that they chose not to show or say anything about the second Schweinfurt raid, Black Thursday, even though the 100th BG were involved, but none of the main characters.
I have no doubt there will be no other fighter groups represented or even mentioned, plus I'll wager we'll get the same tired tropes of "Never losing a bomber, they requested us" bullshit.
And frankly, I don't trust Spielberg or hanks to "get it right", I expect them to get maybe 3-4% right, which is what hanks said of Band.
Well its based on the memoirs of those main characters.
And the book of the same name, which was about the Eighth Air Force, not just the 100th Bomb Group.
I hope before the series ends, Cols Blakeslee or Zemke are on screen.I have no doubt there will be no other fighter groups represented or even mentioned, plus I'll wager we'll get the same tired tropes of "Never losing a bomber, they requested us" bullshit.

Hollywood always adds their own spin on all these stories. It's be be expected, and it's always been that way. It's made for entertainment and for mass consumption, so there will be fictional elements, or things that are not exactly like the historical facts. If the producers can capture the basic essence of the story, with most facts correct, we should be thankful. I think the series really captures what it was like.I have no doubt there will be no other fighter groups represented or even mentioned, plus I'll wager we'll get the same tired tropes of "Never losing a bomber, they requested us" bullshit.

Totally agree, although I won't hold my breath.I hope before the series ends, Cols Blakeslee or Zemke are on screen.
Don't! You're going to see the Tuskegee Red Tails soon, but I'll bet Blakeslee and Zemke are ignored.Totally agree, although I won't hold my breath.
Did the Tuskegee flyers ever escort 8th AAf Bombers? Seems unlikely, but you never know.
They did not, to my knowledge. I gather their inclusion in the miniseries is in the PoW camp and not in the skies.
My knickers aren't in a bunch. Just asking a simple question.I think everyone should just relax and wait to see what happens rather than get their nickers in a bunch. lol
