The fan I have on mine doesn't move a great amount of air either. It does create enough airflow to move the paint fumes through the filter and out the duct. The trick is to position the parts so that you are spraying towards the filter as much as possible. IMHO the filter has two purposes, trap outgoing paint particles to protect the fan and get rid of the paint
smell so the wife doesn't squawk.

If I were to build this booth i would put the fan right on the back of the plastic container to get a stronger evacuation of fumes and spray dust.The Tubing not being smooth cuts the air flow down aslo. the article where I got the pics says it does cut down the fumes and dust .As far as the cfm I'm not sure.
