A short article on the BBC internet News page, has announced the find of a 'WW2 bomber' on the sea bed in the North Sea.
A single photo shows a tail wheel, and it's believed that the aircraft is a Short Stirling, possibly lost on a supply-dropping mission to the Norwegian Resistance.
The wreck was discovered during a survey for the laying of cables between Northumberland (N.E. England) and Norway. It is likely that, when or if identified, it will be registered as a War Grave.

Tail wheel of a Stirling should be pretty easy to identify since it had 2 of them mounted side-by-side. Hope it is identified so that the families can receive some knowledge of how their relatives died.

It would be fantastic to have a Flying Short Stirling around, but considering there isn't even a full scale replica, that's probably not happening.........
