He'd never catch a V-1 in a Spitfire Mk 1a and any Mk Is would have been retired for several years by the time they came along. The RAF had regulations about what colour(s) their aircraft were painted and orange wasn't one of them. The only colour that comes close is a high-reflectence red used for radar calibration. with chasing V-1s. i have looked in old swedish military records and there where a swedish polit that was hit by a V1, but of what i can understand he was on his way back from a mission (sorry for my english) when he was flown into by a V1.
