We left Monument Valley and continued a vary long day of driving to reach Mather Campground inside Grand Canyon National Park where we stayed for 2 nights.
Wonderful campground in ponderosa pine trees, and didn't have to go anywhere to see wildlife. We had an Elk walk through the campground the second evening right behind out campsite and the place was overrun with Ravens which would steel any food left unguarded.

The next day we headed north up US Hwy 89 and made a stop at the Glen Canyon Dam which holds back what's left of Lake Powell which is at record lows because of the long-term drought in the Southwest
