Tabloid journalism and aircraft

Every time I have read a news article that I had some actual knowledge or expertise about, I's bore little relation to reality.

Makes you wonder about the veracity of those ones you don't have direct knowledge of!

The reporters always try to find a witness who is semi literate. My favorite was after a Caravan loaded with the CG way too far aft crashed on takeoff on the MSY perimeter, the witness said " Yeah I seen it. It done a tail swoop and fell down."

I often see a report on the news where aviation is mentioned and they use a stock picture which turns out to be totally innacurate. You might think that a picture Editor (or whatever they are called) sees a report that says the aircraft involved was a "Hawker Hunter" and a picture of say a Jet Provost pops up.
