    With all the coverage of the missing Malaysian aircraft, the anniversary of the worst aircraft accident has slipped by un-noticed.

    People seem surprised when its pointed out that the accident with the largest loss of life involved an aircraft on the ground (usually when I point it out after they've taken off their seatbelt as soon as we clear the runway...)

    I remember this. The image that was seared into my young braine was of one of the passengers, clothes mostly burned, just staring at one of the burning planes. Sad.
