Starting on a big group build of Phantoms with the new tooled Zoukei-mura SWS F-4 series. Starting with the F-4J. The cockpit detail is just excellent and perfect fit. One thing that is a big plus is that ZM includes Throttles in the cockpits which is very rare for F-4's these days .

Main airframe of the F-4J assembled. The leading edge can be dropped with a little work. The outer wings the leading edge had to be cut off and outer leading edge parts taken from F-4C kit.

Started messing with the F-4C converting to F-4D . Basically pretty easy fix. I removed the hump from the Academy F-4J spare parts with is provided in the Academy kits. Grafted on the F-4C nose and bam F-4D. Main cockpit [parts assembled and ready for MRP paints .

Made some progress on the ZM 1/48 F-4J . Flaps Hung in take of position , landing mounted in carrier launch. Also intakes and other parts glued . Just need to get some pilots built and dry fitted to ejection seat and see if they fit . I say and week or to then time for primer .

Brian,
Nice job thus far on the kits. Bought the D kit a few months ago. I was stationed at Clark AFB Philippines from June 1972 to September 1973. Also TDY to Udorn RTAFB from July to December 1972. I remember that tail number in FOX section. The 405th TFW had F-4D aircraft with PN on the tail. I have a massive project with 4 F-4's in revetments of the same time period.

Great start to your project.
