I think your being a bit harsh there surely it could go as high as 6 pence.

That is horrible but it is the sort of thing I used to do to my airfix kits when I was a nipper. I remember wanting a japanese aircraft so a poor old Spit MkI kit got mangled to look like a Tony, if you were mister magoo in a dark room it looked okay
