There were about 10,000 Estoppey bombsights used in WWII by the USAAF, compared to 90,000 Norden bombsights and about 5,000 Sperry bombsights. It was far simpler than the Norden or Sperry, but was called into use when Norden production could not keep up with demands during the early years of the War.
