More from D-Day, with the church in Le Port, Benouville, where Cpl. Killeen of B Coy, 7 Para, fired a PIAT round at the tower, to silence German snipers, on the morning of 6th June, 1944, and the church today.

Commandos of Lord Lovat's 2 Special Service Brigade link up with men of 7 Para, outside "La Chaumiere", in Benouville, just about 150 yards from "Pegasus" bridge, in the early afternoon of 6th June, 1944, and the same spot today.

This is not the original bridge but a larger one inaugurated for the D-Day 50th anniversary in 1994. The replacement was because of the naval trafic expansion.
The original one was reerected in 2000 not far from its original place near the Ranville Airborne Museum.
