Ok, cool - so Obama attacking Libya was legit.

I never said that but at least that action was undertaken under the auspices of a UN Resolution.

Just to be clear, I'm inherently nervous about any offensive military action outside a declaration of war. The UN can provide some legitimacy, depending on circumstances. However, I think we've become too accustomed to using military force. All too often it's the default option when it should be an absolute last resort. We (the West) also need to try a LOT harder to identify potential outcomes so we can plan for situations that don't align with our preconceptions.

Libya provides another great example of how easy it is to kick over the apple cart but how difficult it can become to put it back together again…which is the key point I'm making.

The Law of Unintended Consequences kicks some serious ass. As I wrote above, I have mixed feelings about this, and there's a lot of ways it can go sideways. Maslow's Hammer comes into play here too.

No we wouldn't if Clinton or Biden were also threatening the EU and an EU state plus a couple of other countries as well like your current PUSA is doing. Btw we here were also not happy about Iraq, Libya etc.

Not arguing, just a small correction re the sequence of rewards/bounties offered on Maduro.

Trump administration issued the first bounty of $15 million in March 2020. Biden administration raised the bounty to $25 million in January 2025, just before Trump took office. Trump administration then raised the bounty to $50 million in August of 2025.

From what I have understood so far is the the PUSA has a visit in Alaska when he is reminded that the USA bought Alaska from Russia. Then days later the PUSA has a phone call with the Putin fellow. Then the next day or soon after , the PUSA gets an idea in his mind to act on some idea that Normally would never have thought of and he makes it become an issue. The results of his actions will upset the present world order as we have know it. The result will in no doubt be many other nations taking the same kind of action against their neighbours. If condemned they will point to the USA as that country has set a president for them all to follow.
As for Greenland, the USA has had in the past many Bases on Greenland and has moved out , so all that beeds for National Defence is for the US military to reopen those old Bases , no need to invade Greenland. As for the minerals therein the Greenlanders have been trying to trade but for some reason unknown the USA does not want to trade ?
Also to wind up, common sense would be that as Canada is a closer neighbour to Greenland than the USA surly that country would be better placed to take over Greenland and make it part of Canada.
