Nice work! How was the kit?
Not bad really. A fair amount of ejector marks on the interior to fill. Fit is very good. I used very little filler. The decals are a little sketchy but solvaset took care of that.
The cockpit is pretty sparse, no detail at all on the ip and no decal either. Center console has raised detail. Seats are plain but can be detailed up and there is no collective handles. There's lots of room to scratch up some details there.
All that said still a worthy kit.

Nice work.
I have a 48th scale to do for my third HS-4 build.
HS-2 used the SH-34J, sonar equipped for training and we made the transition in HS-4 to the SH-3A
phasing out the 34J's. Later being outfitted with the HH-60B, sonar equipped.
Then designated an interdiction sqn using the HH-60H, which I have also built.

I actually saw a few still used in Vietnam in 1969, majority where Hueys and Cobras, with a few Green Giants, but every once and a while you saw them...

Flew with MHM262 out of MCAS New River 1964, CH-34 offically named "SeaHorse" not Choctaw which was what th army called them. Was assigned to this one as 2nd mech. The CH-34 was the bckbone of Marine medium lift and troop mover during the early stages of Vietnam. It was replaced by the CH-46 "SeaKnight" starting in 1965 just as I was getting out. My squadron MHM-262 had already done one tour in Nam before 1965. 262 was the squron that picked up Major Glenn on his return from his orbital flight.
What all the kit makers have out is the sling and hook called the "Donkeys Dick" invented by a Gunny Sgt, and the clear plexiglass panel on the belly of the beast, the crew cheif would lift a floor panel which covered the panel, lay on his belly and look through the plexiglass and give intructions to the pilot about were he was vis a vie the cargo to be lifted.
The cH-34 was also the main troop mover of the Vietnamese.
