Walking the Dogs.

We have had a couple of cases locally where dumb dogs have attacked Roos and there even more stupid owners have been attacked when trying to rescue the dog. I've also heard of Roos being chased by dogs and the Roo leading the dog to a dam or some form of water and when the dog hits the water in chase, the Roo will turn and hold the dog down, drowning it.

But in general, most Roos just hop off out of harm's way, though up on our mountain they will remain where they are even if it is only a couple of metres away. I should also say that the dogs are walked on leads and have no interest in the Roos.

In one simple word…….."Yes"…………..it's on sale in all the supermarkets here though it's a strong flavoured meat and should only be served lightly cooked for tenderness. So if you like a rare steak then you'll probably not mind the rare roo. But overcook it and you'll have boot leather.
