Paying $800 for liability for six months on my old Honda Pilot. Blew my stack when I saw the new upcoming bill for July 27. No tickets, no wrecks, and I am an old man. Like what?
Feel your pain...House insurance doubled, even though no claims ever on this house, one minor claim on the other house about 23 years ago. Liability only on two vehicles and it's over 2400$ a year now. Time to shop the auto insurance. Already tried on the house with little luck.

The laser has been down for the past three weeks and finally got fixed yesterday. Suddenly everything that's been on hold for the past three weeks is priority. Our scheduler came out of his office to hunt me down to complain that we are going to lose customers because I haven't cut the metal for the laser.
Yeah. That's because I had to cut parts for the turret punch since the laser has been down for three weeks!
Tomorrow I'm going to run 10,000 lbs of 30 ga. That should shut him up.

I've been in similar situations but from the scheduler's side. Someone was probably coming down on him. It's frustrating to be the guy scheduling and knowing that, no matter how beautiful your schedule is, if the end product is made of unobtainium you ain't getting it. I used to work closely with the leads so at least we could commiserate.

Doesn't help that since this is the last week of the month, everyone is putting in orders for delivery on the 1st. I am totally swamped. And my new hire put himself on the DL after he sliced his finger half off.

Last night had some very good 20 year old port after dinner and naturally offered to all including our DiL who was visiting with our son.

When she sipped it for the first time her comment was "yuck - tastes like cough medicine".
You posted this in the annoyed thread. This wrong.
You do not have to share your 20 year old port. I would say ; dodged a bullit right there.

Was awoken at 3:00 a.m. this morning by some wild critter making a ruckus (loud screaming noise) and had a hard time getting back to sleep again. I think it was an Opossum and there were 2 of them, one really close and another screaming a ways off.

With the nearest supermarkets being almost 100km away we have three fridges.
One we got when married in 1977. It is still going strong but you need to make sure you close it properly
One bought about 2001 is still working but the plastic shelves are dying.
Two others bought since have been dumped
The newest is less than a year old
