Ordered a rear micrometer sight for a target rifle from a private party on Dec. 30, 2025, was shipped on Dec 31st. Showed up at local UPS facility in Minnesota on Jan5, was supposed to be delivered on Jan 6th by Jan 7th. Nothing shows on Jan7, in limbo until the morning where tracking shows it's now in California!!! Tracking now states delivery by 9 pm on Jan 14....
I wonder where it's going to be delivered to?
p.s. The UPS tracking system has completely deleted the information on the package ever even being in Minnesota.

I am amazed at how inefficient modern delivery systems can be. My wife, who orders a lot online, experiences this with some regularity. She once ordered an item from a local business which was logged in nine different states before finally arriving at our house two weeks later.
This is why I never pay for expidited delivery. I'm not paying extra when you're just going to lose my package anyway.

The most frustrating part is it was actually at the Maple Grove, Mn. UPS location that delivers to me at one point then it appears in California. I just checked and now it is back in Indiana which is the second stop from when it started it's journey. So who knows where it will end up from there, probably New York City.

A couple of days ago I found that my Celica needed a new idle air control valve, so I ordered a new one. Since I would not be driving the car until that part was replaced I figured I would put it in the garage, which required me to get the Matrix out.
I then found the Matrix had a dead battery. Research revealed the astonishing fact that the battery installed in it was SEVEN POINT FIVE YEARS OLD! That is a new personal best for me. I charged the battery and backed the Matrix out of the garage, only to find it was dead again the next morning.
Top priority this morning was to go up to Walmart and buy a new battery for the Matrix. No problem, I could drive the Tacoma, a necessity since the idle air control valve fault in the Celica limited it to a minimum speed of 35 MPH unless I wanted to just drive in 1st gear.
Then I found that the Tacoma seat belt would not deploy. This had occurred a couple of weeks back and I found that it had a frayed section along one edge. I cut the hanging frayed stuff off and then it worked fine. I figured I would eventually have to remove the assembly and send it in to a place in NJ to get it rebuilt, but here it was again. I decided I had to drive the Tacoma without using the seat belt and felt absolutely naked the whole 1.5 miles to Walmart. I got the new battery, installed it in the Matrix.
Then I decided to try something for the Tacoma. The last time the belt had jammed the weather had been unusually cold and the belt came unstuck when I used a blow drier to blow hot air down the slot where the belt goes. I figured that was most likely a coincidence but that I'd try it again; it was 39F here this morning. Sure enough, the blow drier trick worked! Permanent installation of a blow drier in the truck probably is not feasible given the large size of the AC inverter required.

Yellow-Green liquid in the snow under my truck near the front passenger side wheel. First thought was leaking anti-freeze, but my anti-freeze is orange/pink and the overflow container is at the proper level. Second thought was brake fluid or differential fluid, but I don't think ether of those are yellow-green in GM vehicles.
I'm at a loss.

Only other thing I can think of is the ice/snow treatment that they spray all over the roads up here in Minnesota thawing from the underside of my vehicle? Not sure what color that stuff is.

I thought of that too, in spring/summer/fall there are several cats roaming the neighborhood, but don't see them when Winter comes. Maybe a wild critter like a rabbit?
Coolant liquid with anti freeze ? (c.f : the position near the radiator and the color).

I woke up and realized that I am still old and cranky. At least the irregular heat beat is getting better. Once I would like to wake up as Dr Who or maybe Batman or even Lucky 13. Sometimes one just need a change.

We have discussed here some of the questionable information being presented on Youtube. An example is the claim that the P-38 compressibility problem could be handled by shutting down one engine; it appears to be a complete fabrication.
After looking at some of these AI-Augmented videos I have noticed something of a pattern. They very often use the name "Chen" (or maybe it is spelled Chin) when referring to a source of information, interview, document, or opinion. Another name they use often is "Morrison." Now, maybe they are simply embellishing accurate information by personalizing it to a specific invented individual rather than saying "the Army Air Force" or "8th AF officials" but I doubt it. I think that using Chen and Morrison is the equivalent of that scam e-mail signed by "Abbot Costello"; they are too stupid or lazy to look up a real name or even invent a different one.
The other day I watched an engaging video on the difficulties in the California agricultural sector, describing manpower shortages, rising energy costs, regulatory obstacles, and high taxes, that were leading companies to relocate out of state. And then they cited an interview with a farmer, Robert Chen. They lost almost all credibility with me at that point.
What makes this worse if that so often the "regular" news media refuses to report news that may damage their favored politicians. I saw a video the other day that CA had passed a law making it illegal for anyone 75 years old or older to drive at night after 9PM. I called an old friend of mine in CA and asked him if he was in jail yet (his name is not Chen). He replied that he had heard nothing about that new law and doubted the State Legislature would pass it. He later sent me an e-mail saying he found out that it was true; such a law had been enacted. Now, do you not think it odd that they would pass such a law and keep that fact hidden?
So, who can you believe?

This is an interesting bit of info. I subscribe to a few Sci-Fi channels. Most of the stories posted are Awful. Offal? Most are AI written and narrated. The one thing the AI stories all seem to have in common is that the human heroes are named either Chen or Morrison. Even the comments sections commented on this.
I think you cracked the code.

Yes, and if not downright Awful, then just plain stupid. Using "logic" or plot devices like the attached cartoon. A relative few are clever, something new, and give you something to think about, but 90% plus are not.
Another dead giveaway is how the seemingly human speakers pronounce years. Instead of "twenty twenty one" for 2021 they say "Twenty thousand and Twenty One" or something like that. I do have to admit that the "live action" video showing people is VERY good but still frequently has screw ups like having the wrong character speak the lines, or getting in a car by opening the driver's door when there already is a driver sitting there and presumably having the person climb over the driver.
