RE: leaking anti-freeze.
-Not today but last week. My wife and I were driving back from the east coast hoping to avoid the predicted bad weather, which we did!!!
-I'm one of those old fools who checks oil, water, connections, tire pressure, etc.
-We pulled into a rest area, I got out and freaked: there was a stream of lemon-lime colored something leaking in front of the driver's side tire. I immediately popped back into the car and pulled the hood release, got out and raised the hood. As I was looking around wifey asked "What's wrong?" to which I replied by telling her about the leaking fluid.
-Her comment: "I just dumped the rest of my slushy on the ground."
-Problem solved.
 
Still more yellow-green liquid leaking. Coolant level in overflow does it where I checked at a couple days ago and it should be pinkish in color on my vehicle anyway, it looks pink in the overflow container. Seeing as it's -18F today I'm not crawling around under the vehicle today.
 
Went flying this morning, right after sunrise. Heard a Cessna pilot saying they were heading for Runway 29 and I assumed they were on the ground, taxing out, since they did not give a position. Many pilots announce they are taxiing to a certain runway, which is pretty much pointless since we do not have a control tower and if it is too foggy and dark to be seen then we are not trying to fly anyway. Then 10 min or so later I started a 45 degree approach to downwind and heard the Cessna saying they were on a crosswind approach to 29 downwind. I did not see them. I got on downwind and heard them say they were on downwind. I asked them were they were and if they saw me. Then finally responded that yes, they saw me and were behind me. Probably the instructor in the Cessna then asked if I had my ADSB turned on.

ADSB Out is a radar transponder that encodes not only your altitude but your GPS coordinates onto the radar response pulse. ADSB In allows you to receive the pulses from other aircraft and see where they are. I have ADSB Out installed in my airplane (cost over $3000 plus another $1200 for an alternator to make sure the juice was available) but we have to finish calibrating the modified static instrumentation system before we can use it.

I responded that I had ADSB installed but it had not been calibrated yet and was not turned on.

The reason they were not providing the location of that Cessna in their radio calls was that they had ADSB Out and In and assumed everyone could see them on the "scope." The reason they seemed unaware of my presence is that they were looking at the ADSB "scope" instead of actually looking outside occasionally, even when they heard radio calls that indicated They Were Not Alone.

Neither ADSB Out or In is not required at our airport; for that matter, neither are radios. The area that does require ADSB Out is a few miles to the West of us, and that is where they came from.

When ADSB was mandated I feared that in the areas where it was required nobody would be looking outside. It did not occur to me that this would even be true in areas where ADSB is not required.

And of course, aircraft without electrical systems, such as J-3 Cubs, Aerona Champs, and pre-WW2 biplanes are not required to have ADSB In or Out even if they are in the required area, and we have some of those at our airport, too.

So I am annoyed.

Trucks been at the dealer for a week with a leaking radiator and water pump. Extended warranty company messed up my warranty when I bought the truck, should have had coverage 100,000 beyond the milleage it had when I bought it, but they only input a max of 100,000. 2 days to correct that, been waiting another 2 days for a water pump (they claim there is a national backorder still, that's what I was told 2 years ago as well). Wouldn't be so bad, but I'm paying for a loaner out of my pocket and will have to fight with the warranty company to get re-imbursed for that I'm sure...
 
Way back when Australia had many more newspaper companies one ran a regular annual survey on the trustworthiness of the main 150 odd professions.

The bottom of the list always looked something like

145
146 Insurance agents
147 Car sales people
148 Real Estate people
149 Lawyers
150 Politicians

If they did the survey now I doubt much would change other than the annual decline of priests, police and teachers caused by the endless stories about pedophiles in there ranks would be steeper.
 
My new computer crashed and keeps giving me a message that says something like the computer cannot access the required device or file. You may not have the necessary permissions to do this every time I try to open a graphic or word or pdf file or my email program.

No files will be lost (except my emails) as they are all on the server but I spent hours getting all the software installed and fine tuning the settings.

Am taking it in to Bundy to send it express back to the makers tomorrow (Thursday) so they should get it Friday. Being a custom built NUCC and well inside warranty they can hopefully fix it without me needing to reload or retune anything.

With any luck I will get it back in the middle of next week. Meantime I must use the @#$%^@#$%^@#$%^@#$% windows 10 laptop.
 
Personally speaking, lack of desicion making... i want to post about Iran - Iraq war, but mentally unable to continiue it. I really hope in a better situation, i can either have my own youtube chanel or work with some big chanels about making videos, songs, and even maybe mods or games about military history of Iran.

If you ask that question from Iranians, there is high chance that no. 150 would be Islamists, If they don't use other "not much polite nor friendly" words, of course.

Microsoft in general. Why we all have to work with an OS that sucks (Windows) and after 30 years never moved to a better system (mac or linux) is beyond me. Updating is still not fixed after 30 years, it's slow, it shoved copilot on my face everywhere. And I still need anti mallware to keep my system safe. System suddenly gets unresponsive without any alerts.

The other MS products:
Everything MS created is slow and buggy. Running tests in C# takes an awful long time to start. Stacktrace is unreadable. Starting VisualStudio takes a century and when running is still slow as fu.

The Azure portal is an unholy mess. Can be down without warning.

Not even talking about Word and Powerpoint that people keep using for some incomprehensible reason.

I'm annoyed, can you tell?
