Even though I have a cold (again), it might not be as bad or stick around as long as the last time. Also have 3 new Mustang books in the mail. One will be here today, one by Thursday and I'm not sure about the other one as of yet, but that one's coming from the UK).

My brother fell and went into a coma last Friday. At the ER they're determine a full kidney failure and the level of lactate in his blood was 28 mmol/l ( 5 is usually lethal ).

To everybody's surprise, he woke up in the evening. Even more surprising, his brain does not seem to be damaged.

Love you, brother, glad you're still with us.

Many moons ago, I purchased, from a well-known online auction site, a formal portrait photo of a WW2 pilot who was killed in action. He'd sent the photo home to his family in 1941, and had written a note on the picture matte.

Yesterday, I was able to give the photo to the pilot's family. It was very moving but, also, massively enjoyable. One little piece of family history is back with people who will treasure it.

Seems like my brother's kidneys finally woke up as well. So this again increases the chances of him escaping with minimal damage. Miracles still happen.

After 22 hours of drive recovery software running, the oldest's game drive is recovered and transferred to a new drive. He's ecstatic that he can get back online again after almost three weeks of fighting a wonky drive. With him completely home bound and in a wheelchair almost half the time, the computer is his link to outside world other than dr visits.
