Thanks for this post. I don’t remember how long ago I saw a picture of the Lockheed YP-24. I liked its looks.
The MS.325 doesn’t disappoint. That sucker is UGLY.

The P-30 (which was actually manufactured by Consolidated) was fit with a turbo-supercharged V-1570 - impressive for early 30's standards.

If the time scale posted is to be believed, the Sidecar noticeably pre-dated the Dewoitine by a far margin. Lots was learned about aeronautical ugliness - and how to avoid it - in those intervening years...
My point, I suppose, is that the Sidecar might be forgiven for its lack of pulchritude.
The Dewoitine did not have that excuse.

That exhaust appears to go forward, then down into a single pipe, providing thrust that goes straight into the carb intake.

I would have to call that stupidcharging.

Interesting when compared with Jiro Horikoshi's first attempt at the A5M.

At least Hirokoshi knew about metal props, even if only ground adjustable.
