What made me sad today...

Same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. My ankel is still week from the back problems, stepped on a rock, ankel folded and I went down and cracked a rib. Just now not hurting as much but still can't sleep on my left side. Last time I cracked one it was months before it stopped hurting

My buddy just texted me and told me Grader 5 got smoked by a haul truck. Ben was grading downhill and the truck was following him down, lost traction and hit the grader and spun it around. Ben is okay but the incident played with his head and they sent him home. I was always on the radio telling those muppet drivers not to follow me down ramps, especially in winter but they don't seem to get it. When I was driving haul truck, I lost my brakes twice while loaded. These muppets don't understand how fast you accelerate once you've lost control and now the grader becomes a long slow target

So long, Grader #5. Glad to hear there were no injuries. Hope your buddy bounces back. I imagine getting creamed by an out of control haul truck might result in an emergency underwear change.

Hopefully the grader is repairable. I trust outside of destroyed underwear he will bounce back given a bit of time.

From what buddy told, the contact speed wasn't too fast, however, when this meets that.....

Last year learned a bit about "When this meets that!" I was driving into Kalamazoo, MI. Due to traffic ahead, I stopped short of the Amtrak train crossing. Suddenly we got rear ended HARD by a big Ford pickup truck. This knocked us onto the passing siding track for Amtrak. We were fine though a bit shaken. Our seats did their job protecting us. The van ended up totaled.
I follow a couple of You Tubers that have Volvo 6 wheel off road haul trucks. Theirs are toys next to yours! Thankfully that grader has a lot of engine behind the cab to absorb stuff like that. I am glad it is just metal that got damaged and no real people injuries!

Sorry, my ignorance, but what is a grader?
