i mean i can understand 'til '46 as allot of planes designed in WWII didn't really enter serivce 'til '46 but the 1933??

The only connection is the Nazi regime coming to power in January 1933. However, that's not World War II so I'm going to do '39 - '45 since '46 wasn't World War II!

wait a minute, he just put the B-17 as a better bomber than the lanc in '44

hey, what was wrong with the lanc in '42?

Nothing, If you look at my list the lanc is '42 and the B-17 isnt even there

laughable its a statement as to when they were most effective i am quite sure in 44 the b17 was a more effective weapon because of the daylight factor and the fact it had escorts plus i was sure it would cause some droll comments from some of you guys

Just because its daylight and has escort that makes it better? Lancasters carried more bombs further and didnt need escort because they could evade enemy nightfighters...You're gonna get it deep from lanc...

its plain to see using archaic radar and flares to mark a target is not quite as accurate as the mk 1 eyeball one couldn't even calculate wind drift correctly at night carrying more bombs further at this point of the war might in a small way make up for the more accurate eye but i think not .
this is not a slam against the raf/rcaf but just a observation
