The Blackburn Botha is a good example, designed as a torpedo bomber, 580 built, underpowered and unstable, turned in a trainer and killed many students, turned into a target tug..... should have been lined up on the ground and just used as a target! (note: I am an ex Blackburn's apprentice).

Because of circumstances, I believe they weren't able to get into combat before they were over-run. But the CW-22 was more of an armed trainer, unlike the CW-21, which was a pure fighter.I'm not aware of them scoring any victories. Did they?
Not the Brewster manufactured F4U, the F3A.KevinJ: you listed Corsair. Why? They were all over the Pacific.
Herman He-119 (I think). That's a rare large plane with a single pilot & all-glass nose with the drive shaft in the middle for a single propeller. Does anyone have drawings or photos? THAT would make for an interesting modeling subject.
Vickers Warwick comes to mind, though I might just be ignorant in regard to its service ...
