I would have liked to be the guy in this photo:

For me P47D (bubble top) or FW190A,
wide track landing gear, reliabilty, maneuvrability and good engine.

@+

Allied: F8F in Pacific or P-51B/C/D/H w/8thAF
Axis: FW-190D13 or maybe just maybe the Me-262

Ragardless my personal ride would a Willys Jeep!

I saw this question asked to one of the ww2 vets. his answer was depends on if I was doing the shooting or getting shot at...if doing the shooting he wanted to be in a mustang...if being shot at he wanted to be behind the stick of a T-bolt...

For low to mid level altitudes, I'd take the Bearcat...for high altitude I'd go with a P-51H or late model Spit...

I'll choose the A-20 as well. Just my favorite aircraft. With a solid nose, 2000 pounds of bombs and two T-30 4.5" rocket launchers under the wings you could do a lot of damage in a sweet to fly aircraft.

In the real world I was a m-60a3 tanker in the early 80's in Germany. Had the T-64s come through Fulda, I'd have been just as dead only faster. If I could I'd rather roll dice with Azrael in the air than on the ground. ;)
