Just about to go back to bed too!
Thanks for the Henley info Terry thats just what i was looking for,i can scale it from the tail using a hurricane, let me know if you need anything yourself,

    cheers Bob
Thanks mate i wasn't sure as we all meet people who arn't what they seem but its nice to hear that Evan is one of the good guys,

    cheers Bob
Evan is a good bloke, so he maybe just need reminding of things, as he gets quiet busy at work.
He sent me a kit a year ago, as a gift, and a great book at Christmas, both unexpected. I've just sent him a CD with some books on it.
Give him a reminder, and maybe say you lost his address - should work.
    Cheers,
    T.
Hi mate ,Evan (a4k) said he had some markings spare for my polish Karus about 2 months ago,in a latter post approx i month,he asked about my avro york and gipsy moth i have going spare,as i never recieved the markings from him and he seams to be stalling regarding swops for the kits, even though i said i'd put his name on them do you think i'm right to hold back sending these to him as i don't want to offend anyone, you have known of him longer than me,

    cheers bob
Thanks mate,my e-mail address is [email protected],i'll try to do as you suggest regarding slowing down etc i think my main problem is that i'm wound up from work when i start modeling as you say i do it to relax and take my mind off things my only concern would be that by trying too hard to make a perfect model i will stress myself even more by trying to get things right,i will give it a go though with the he219 i've just started as i've found some detailed info on the cockpit that i could build and drop into the assembled frame,

    cheers mate

Hi Bob, I'll scan the drawing some time this week and e-mail it to you, of you can let me have an e-mail address.
As for your models in the group build, there is certainly an improvement. The main thing is to slow down a bit, and pay attention to joints and such, and the final paintwork. A modeller can spend many, many hours adding internal detail etc, which can be slightly spoilt by a poor paint finish or visible joints on the completed model.
I realise you do this for relaxation, but taking a little time to get things as good as you can get them will work wonders, and you'll actually find it more relaxing, due to the satisfaction at the ends of each session.
I notice you use enamels, and brush paint, as I still do sometimes - have a look at the rough guide to brush painting I posted on the forum some time ago, it might help a bit.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Terry.
anything would help please Terry ,i feel it would be a good way of learning a new skill building from scratch,on another point do you think my attempts at builds in the group build are rubbish as i think others are thinking that or are they improving baring in mind its 30years since i last did any kit building and the standards have changed including what is available for detailing work, please be honest

    cheers bob
Hi Bob, I have a photograph and a very basic 3-view line drawing, not scaled, if that will help?
Hi Terry,do you have any profiles on the hawker henley i might be able to use to build something from
It settled down to a point where it's just silvering now. I guess it's my fault because I reapplied a future cote and waited only an hour before putting the water on there. But luckily it dried and now I just have to deal with pricks and sol to take the silvering away. Blast, there's always problems. Every decals seems to be getting it though, maybe I went too light on the gloss.
Doing the decals and major problems! Any idea on tackling spider web decals that form cracks everywhere, along with a milky white forming under it?? It's only happening on the black parts of the plane but it's going to ruin the model. I keep picking small airholes and trying putting sol into it and hoping. Haven't done any future coats so it's all still accessible.
I have the color profile but as you know there's some leeway when making the camo patterns as it's easier just to cut the damn tape then try to make it perfect. I knew I went slim in some areas but i'll fix it!
Think you could take one of the pics and draw the new widths using paint or the similar then shoot it back to me via email? got lost in the airplane lingo lol
Just looked at some lancasters thoroughly, I know i'm slack on my research but those 'lines' are barely visible on the real thing. Blast these modelers for overdoing everything!
