Good stuff with the radome. I feel your pain with the lil bits, Bill. Built one in '23. Landing gear was fun too. G18/G20 have to butt up against a wall so everything needs to be lined up exact. I installed them just after I glued the strut in so I had some wiggle room....your mileage may vary. I may or may not have installed G41/G42 before the struts but I can't remember. I know it was a tight fit

I did get those in, there is a pocket for them on the Floor of the well. Yes who would know if we dint!

Working on the Pilot today.
Most from kits are too fat!!!! Nobody was fat aboard ships!!!!
Others need a booster seat. No pilot oxygen on F6F's, so...... mods.
Sculpting involved.
Now have to determine what weapons stores were carried in this mission!!!

Why do I do it.................. looking for realty? Nope, sillyness.
So wanted to know what the bomb holder really looked like.
Shise! Not like the kit. I did glue the rack down Before I searched.
Had I looked firt I think I woulda shortened it by 5mm.
The cradle pieces were in the wrong places (A).
so I puttem in the correct locations. A bit of a streeeeetch.
So now they are a bit forward and aft on the bomb casing.
But then, who will know!!!!!

But eye will know they are Backwards!!!!! The fronts should be at the backs!!!!!! WTA*%#

It was when I looked, casually, at the INstructions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WT?????? "Why are the tail fins at the back of the Bombas?
ohhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am fortunate I keep spare sh!t around. I had done another F6F5 as a Photo recon, no bombas.
So I did have in me spares box, F6F5 bomb racks........ What a save this was. So I hacked the offending parts off, attached new.
Facing forwards!

This plane will be depicted as it was before launching from CV-10. Pilot in his seat, canopy open, hand on stick,
arm resting on canopy track and his left hand holding windscreen frame. This figure I think came form an Airfix P-51.
Arms not attached. I have done some filing to get the hand around control stick. Used some Spru Goo under left shoulder
to get the arm up on the track. Had to decapitate the poor guy, then add a styrene dot from my punch to get his head
around so he's looking at deck launch crew.Sculpting is required on left shoulder. Then paint!!!! Gadzooks.
