Thanks Wayne/Wojtek, I kind of got so excited at getting that cockpit to fit I got carried away, maybe I should have looked closer at the pics I have. Also guess it'll save me sticking down that rogue starboard corner.

Many thanks for looking in gents, your interest is much appreciated.

Much progress has been made over the past couple of days but also lots of fiddling and fixing. First up after removing the armour plating and cleaning that up, the nose assembly was added and as you can see, a few fit complications with the gun faring.

Soon fixed though by cutting out the offending gun ports and using a scrap of evergreen, shaping a new set. As for the back end of the faring, more filling and filing was required in order to get something resembling the right shape. I also decided at his point to add some cowling fasteners.

With the wing ready to mount, the test fit threw up this humongous miss alignment, gaps everywhere.

Soon fixed though with a strategically placed spacer inside the fuselage which left just a couple of narrow gaps along the upper wing join.

Out with more evergreen, this time a nice thin scrap wedged into the gaps, glued and filed back.

I agreed. However the fitting of the cwling of the fusleage MG compartment wasn't too perfect in fact. Also there were gaps between the cowling rear side edges and the fuselage in order to let the gunpowder fumes and hot air go outside. The rear top edge of the cowling was attached to the fuselage at the bottom of the windshield with a hinge that allowed to open it up.

Nice corrections Vic, and I agree with Wojtek re the upper cowling joints. Here's a couple of pics of the Cosford '190 which might be useful.
