Andy, this is the exact kit I have. I'm not sure how it compares to the Special Hobby offering, but the interior is all resin and PE which may make for a tricky build. I've been unable to decide if I should do it RCN or Pacific Fleet. We'll see how the builds I have entered go and maybe I'll make a decision in the meantime.
As for decals, I know the Belcher Bits decals that I'll be using for this build includes some Firefly decals, but I'm not sure off the top of my head which version they are.

So I have worked on this (it's actually almost done), but my internet is down and will likely be down until June 2nd, so pictures will have to wait as I don't want to blow through all of my phone data.

So some delay but here we are.
This kit was not good, especially after coming off the Tamiya Corsair. Fit was poor, the cockpit was a royal fiddly pain in the rear, but it eventually went together. The wing joint was a mess that I never did totally blend properly, but the way the colour demarcation is actually hides it somewhat. Nothing to write home about but eh, will look ok on the shelf. Kind of one of those ones I just want to be done though. Decals went on today but I'll start getting some better pictures of it now, so that'll wait.
