Thanks gents. Must admit to letting loose with a number of expletives last night! A combination of rushing to get things done, with an approach to the task that was not planned or methodical was my downfall. I think I have a solution to some of the damage - just not sure yet how to fix the folded wing, as it broke the hinge point bracket just where it goes into the outboard section.

Despite the mishap I really enjoyed making the Corsair. I learned a whole bunch of new techniques, tried paints and brands that I've not used before and had a go at some basic weathering techniques that I have been too scared to attempt previously. In thinking back to the kits I used to make years ago, I believe this is the first Tamiya model I have ever made. The fact that the kit almost falls together allows much more scope to focus on making the model look more like the real thing.

Thanks again to everyone for advice, suggestions and encouragement along the way.

Cheers!
