I use hardware store lacquer thinner for cleaning .Shiny. Two questions Brian. This is working for you but isn't that a lacquer based thinner? How do you clean-up the airbrush after using this?
The Mr Color Leveling Thinner can be used for both the Gunze Mr. Color series C and H although it is dedicated for the C one. The thinner contains a retarder what results in longer time of curing of a paint and the gloss surface if used with the gloss varnish. The Mr Color thinners are the alcohol based but not the lacquer based ones and can be used instead of the Tamiya Lacquer Thnner with the yellow cap. Because the Tamiya XF-22 is an acrylic clear gloss varnish ( actually it isn't the acrylic one ) it can be removed with the same thinner like the entire rerst of Tamiya colours including the Mr Colour thinner.
Here are three Mr Color thinners you may find... the Mr Color Thinner is without the retarder, the Mr Color Leveling Thinner is with the retarder added and the Mr Color Rapid thinner with an accelerator.

In my case, I have not even had the opportunity to have my own Shelf of DoomNice. I can't imagine a Tamiya kit on the Shelf of Doom
