Hi all
This is my latest build, the kit is not very good, with a lot of mistakes and shortcuts by HB.
I have used a very old FCM decal set and it proved a challenge due the decals being so old.
At end, I wasn't completely happy with the result, but it is what it is.

I represented this aircraft, which received this commemorative painting to celebrate the Squadron 53rd anniversary.

Faults or not, it looks good to me. I have an Italeri (ex ESCI) 1/48th scale F-5 to do as a Swiss example, and yours has given me a kick to get around to doing it soon.

Thanks mate.
I really wanted to see a good F-5E in 1/72. It deserves a new tooling release. I was hoping for Airfix to make one but the way Hornby is nowadays I doubt they will invest in any new release.

Well, you never know. Hornby as a company have a few problems, but the Airfix brand seem stronger than ever, and they're releasing quite a few new kits in all the scales, and re-tooling others - the Defiant and Jet Provost in 1/72nd scale come to mind, to name just two.
Maybe they might re-tool their old F-5 kit some day.

That's a quite nice build. Thanks for some smart tips!
I started with HB's F-5E in Swiss markings from Italeri box and the worst part I noticed is the central fuel tank: completely out of scale and shape (far too slim with oval cross section). I changed this tank for the Heller spare part.
Thanks mate
