WIA (injured) 14 March, 1943 landing accident in Wk# 5213 at Kirkenes Norway airfield after an operational flight. His R/O, Fw Gerhard Friedrich was also injured (Source: SIG Norway). A Stfkpt in 13/ZG-76 in the Summer of 1944, he rescued two crew members, Gross, the pilot, and Gerhard Sarodnik, R/O, when they were downed in their Bf 110. Kdr I/ZG-101 in June, 1944. Thought to be the last Commander of II/ZG-76. 300+ combat missions. One known victory, his 5th, a MiG-3 on 10 May, 1943 over the Notowki Bight.
