Two Illinois Central freight trains following each other through Mississippi River flood waters at Dubuque, Iowa in 1950. The 1950 river floods caused considerable damage to railroads in the Mississippi, Missouri and Red River basins. This resulted in some freight and passenger trains being rerouted to foreign rails.
