The unenviable task of flying in the rear turret of a bomber is graphically illustrated here. Sgt. P F Hayes, the rear gunner of Lancaster ED413 died fighting off at least three nightfighters whilst approaching the target at Oberhausen in the summer of 1943.

 
Just noticed with Montex 32268 set with Herbert Maxis' White 13, the wings are natural metal underneath, is that correct?
I've seen profiles featuring both!
