Four U.S. Navy McDonnell F-4B Phantom II (BuNo 148393, 148398, 148404, 148413) of Fighter Squadron Vf-102 "Diamondbacks" in flight. VF-102 was assigned to Carrier Air Group 6 (CVG-6) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVAN-65) in 1962.

A U.S. Navy Grumman A-6A Intruder (BuNo 152913) from Attack Squadron VA-75 Sunday Punchers lands on the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) off Vietnam on 2 March 1968. In the background are two McDonnell F-4B Phantom II (BuNo 153023, 153068) from fighter squadron VF-213 Black Lions and a North American RA-5C Vigilante (BuNo 150831) from Heavy Reconnaissance Squadron RVAH-11 Checkertails. All aircraft were assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11) aboard the Kitty Hawk for a deployment to Vietnam from 18 November 1967 to 28 June 1968.

The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVAN-65) underway on 10 April 1962. Enterprise had been on her shakedown cruise to the Atlantic Ocean from 5 February to 5 April 1962.
Although nominally Carrier Air Group 1 (CVG-1) was embarked (tail code "AB"), its squadrons were drawn from different air groups. Visible in front are McDonnell F4B Phantom IIs (BuNo 148400, 148413, 148396, 148402, 148398, 148425, and 148388) from Fighter Squadron 102 (VF-102) "Diamondbacks" from CVG-6 (tail code "AF"). In front of the island are North American A3J-1 Vigilantes from Heavy Attack Squadron 3 (VAH-3) "Sea Dragons" (tail code "GJ") and VAH-7 "Peacemakers of the Fleet" (tail code "GL"). Also visible are Douglas A4D-2N Skyhawks from Attack Squadron 64 (VA-64) "Black Lancers" (tail code "AF") and VA-172 "Blue Bolts" (tail code "AB").

A Forrestal-class aircraft carrier is visible in the background, either USS Forrestal (CVA-59) or USS Independence (CVA-62).

A U.S. Navy McDonnell F-4B-16-MC Phantom II (BuNo 151415) of Fighter Squadron 142 (VF-142) "Ghost Riders" approaches the aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CVA-64) following a mission over Vietnam on 14 August 1967. VF-142 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 14 (CVW-14) aboard the Constellation for a deployment to Vietnam from 29 April 1967 to 4 December 1967.
