To be honest both teams were pretty undisciplined, and sloppy. Columbia was just worse.

England actually has a good shot of making it to the final (I personally think Croatia will though), simply because of the bracket they are in. That's not a knock on England (Don't get your panties in a wad Smokey.), but let's just be honest, the other side of the bracket has arguably (at least on paper and from potential) the 4 toughest team left, whereas England's bracket is the weakest. Brazil and Belgium on the other side are arguably the two favorites left.

It will certainly be interesting how this plays out. Very interesting World Cup to say the least.
No, i actually agree. :And if you look right back to the qualifying stages i did predict a Brasil v Croatia final. So as i said the other night, i dont care if England lose to Sweden. For the first time in decades im actually happy with how England are playing. And i think Southgate has come in with a whole new look and mentality. I also think the time taken to study other sports like the NFL and NBA, has been valuable insight and experience in how to make room for chances in such confined spaces :ie Basketball, and the whole team cohesion and tough mental attitude of the NFL has helped in their preparation. Whatever his ideas and actions, i think no matter what happens next he should be given time and complete backing to continue for another 4 years at least. I really think other than the obvious favourites Brasil and France, this competition is pretty much open to any team that raises their game for the big occasion. Good luck to everyone!

That headbutt by Columbia should have been a RED not a YELLOW.

I wouldnt say it was bad, not least because Columbia had a gameplan to rattle and provoke England players into an all out brawl. And with just a couple of exceptions i think the Eng players performed cool and collected never loosing faith or belief. As for the pens, i was very pleased with English players attitudes and clinical finishing. Trippier pen brought a great belief back into the team and Pickford's strong hand to deny the last Columbia pen i thought was a huge hand/save. Im quietly confident we can progress at least to the semi's if not further.

The pressure is back on you Belgy....

I only watched Sweden when they got beat by Germany and they ok but no real flair of skills. So it's the perfect pick v England and a team they can beat.
Not sure about Croatia but would expect them to beat Russia. If England do play Croatia then depends on how Croatia plays. They have a good chance against England if they play skillfully. If they go down the Colombia route then perhaps not.
Great thing is every England victory annoys the Scots more. So not sure if I want England to win for England or because it will makes the Scots cry!

I'm not from Belgium ;)

To be fair, I don't think Belgium will make it against Brazil, although I really hope they do.
England has the ready route, so they'll make a great chance to reach the finals.
Sorry. My bad. I just assumed what with all the sabre rattling going on everyone here was a belgium fan lol
And im really not gonna feel bad about england having an easier run to the final (not that there are any easy games left at this stage) But in past world cups england has had to face the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Portugal etc.... So it's nice for once to go into a game with the belief we have a chance. But whatever happens now, even if we loose to sweden. Im happy with this england team from the players right up to the manager and coaching staff. Its about time england had a young and vibrant manager with fresh ideas and a different appraoch. Something fans have been looking on for years......

I wouldnt say Belgium dont stand a chance against Brazil. Anything can happen in football as we know. And Belgium have some pretty good players of their own. I doubt Brazil will take this one lightly thats for sure.

I don't think anyone is an actual Belgian fan, it's just the preferred team to win it out of the teams that are left.

Marcel is Dutch, hence why we both have been rattling off a lil with each other. We both embrace the Dutch-German rivalry, and have fun with it every tournament or football conversation.

Yes, i understand. Even though my second tour i was stationed in Germany for two years, very rarely were we allowed off the base and fraternising with the locals was very much a no no. But i can see why Belgium would make a neutral choice after your home nation. Tbh if England had not made the finals or been eliminated i would probably have followed Belgium myself. But as i said, i dont think any team has played what one could call amazingly throughout the tournament so far. So personally i think its still pretty much up for grabs.

I'm a US citizen Smokey.

I was just born and raised in Germany (and lived most of my life). My mother is German, and my father is American. He was an American soldier stationed in Germany from the 1970's through the early 1990's. I was then stationed in Germany in the US Army as well in the 2000's, and that is when I met my German wife.

Being that the US was never a big football country, I have always been a Germany fan. I won't support a team who's country does not support the team fully, and views the sport as a "Girls Only" sport.

I dont think any of the teams left will quite go down the Columbia route. They were out to really cheat their way through as well as wind up or deliberately injure players. But then, its what i expected from them. I dont think sweden are all that good either though. And yes this is best chance yet for england to get a little closer to the final. But in football you never can tell.

My girlfriend is American with a german father and a greek mother. They met in ww2 when he was stationed in germany. She was a volunteer nurse. She (my girl) has family in Hartfird, Connecticut. That's where she is from. But we are hoping to get married as soon as we can sort out all the redtape.

Agreed, but Henderson rolled around like Neymar and as he is from my neck of the woods it was disappointing to say the least :(

Hoping for Uruguay and Belgium wins tomorrow
Have you been hit on the point of your chin with a hard object?
