IIRC radios were typically fitted at the squadron level so the aircraft used by ferry pilots wouldn't necessarily have radios installed.

The lady concerned flew 18 types and they never used radio, they wernt trained in radio protocol. Another female pilot I remember was delivering an AC to an airfield in low visibility when she saw her colleague landing on the same runway but the opposite direction, almost a head on crash. She never mentioned radio at all.
 
Some of these women are quite remarkable. I have been reading up on the F100 and was astonished to read that a 71 year old woman went supersonic in one. At the time she must have been the oldest member of the sonic club
