I wasn't aware of the ICM kit. I thought Inaccurate Miniatures was the only early Mustang game in town. Off for a search....................................

EDIT: Just read some reviews of the ICM kit, some love it, some hate it.. Price is reasonable on eBay, starting at 33$CAN, shipping included. Hmmmmmm

Re-boxing of the old ICM kit....
Despite the fact that 'out of the box' you cannot build an accurate by any measure P-51A Mustang using this particular kit. It is an amalgam of scale attributes taken from the original AM line of early Allison engine Mustang kits, cross bred with stuff from the Tamiya P-51B/C (because ICM was trying to utilise a lot of the same moulds for both their P-51A and P-51B/C kits and didn't understand the differences between them), so it has for example the narrow carburettor air intake above the engine cowling representative of the Mustang I and P-51/Mustang IA, but has the provided wing mouldings of a P-51B/C. And somewhere in the process, they forgot to include the part of the mouldings that had the main inner undercarriage gear doors. And the original plastic they used was very soft, had lots of flash, and reacted badly to some of the stronger plastic glues around.

To quote those in the know about this one...............
