On a recent trip over to New Zealand I visited the Royal New Zealand Air Force Museum at Wigram, Christchurch and picked up this weighty, impressive and most excellent book. In my quick looks through its contents before I dive into reading it in detail, I am seeing much to like about this book.

Then not long after I got back from NZ the postman delivered the latest in Greg Baughen's series covering the Royal Air Force, the policies, personalities and how they impacted the RAF during and immediately after WW2. I have already started reading this one and already I am finding it well written and providing some interesting insights into the directions the RAF was being driven in the closing phases of WW2 and the immediate post-War period by the different views of what the RAF should be and how it should be equipped and commanded. His work draws as in the previous volumes, on original documentation held in various archives, including many personal papers of senior RAF personages.
