This one arrived with the post man late yesterday. It is a paperback, 235mmHx155mmWx30mmD, 489 page history of the RAAF's involvement in the Malayan Emergency from 1951 to 1958, with a specific focus on the operations of the Australian built Avro Lincolns of No.1 Squadron RAAF. It is based on the RAAF offical Squadron histories and records as well as individual accounts from surviving Squadron members and Lincoln aircrew from that period, as well as drawn from personal papers provided by family members of those who served on the RAAF Lincolns. I've had a quick look through and it looks to be a well researched work, the bibliography, sources and endnotes are extensive. Being a paperback, it uses a lighter grade paper and so the photo reproduction is okay, not brilliant, but quite a few photos, many drawn from private sources and published in this book for the first time. Another one that will provide some interesting reading in depth in the near future (still working my way through the recently released RAAF C-130 Hercules duo).
