Got it on Friday, and the XP-51 Lightweights alone made it worth it. Still makes me wish I had photos of the lightweights in high resolution, probably (IMO) the best looking Mustangs built.

One I'd like to add is Valiant Wings' P-51D/K/H book. Only problem is that the original is out of print and I don't know when the second edition will be released.

I was sort of hesitant to get either volume because these books seem to be biased towards modelers (which I'm not), plus there's not a lot out there about the late P-51s (post D/K), P-82 or the lightweight XP-51s. Those items (especially the lightweights and P-51H) are why I'm looking forward to Bill's successor to the P-51B Bastard Stepchild book. That book was awesome to put it lightly. Excellent text, brilliant and rare photos and diagrams, many from Boeing's NAA archive, simply a great book for me as both a text and visual learner. I'm really hoping that the second volume is just as good.

BTW, you planning on doing a book on the Merlin P-51s in RAF service, and/or the lightweight/later developments to round things off (I know that the RAF didn't use the P-51H)?

The Lou Drendel books are great, I always liked the Japanese book and truest admired the modelers there.
