Good start and nice work. I'm probably wrong, but I thought that all '109F's had just the seat pan, with the rear bulkhead acting as the back rest, as in the later 'G' model. I'd have to check, but I'm fairly sure those 1/48th scale kits I've built had just the pan.

There were brackets/runners on the bulkhead which allowed the rather minimal adjustment of the seat, which was a 'full' seat:

Thanks Steve, that clarifies things nicely. Most kits I'd built had the 'runners' on the bulkhead, and the seat pan, no full seat. I can see how the error could have occurred.

I'm of the understanding that the F could have had both types and maybe Steve can confirm? Note the triangular windows on the canopy in this manual shot, making this from either an E or an F. Sorry Brian to steal your thread.

The G series had an entirely different back plate.

Whether this was also used on the transitional late Fs as well I'd have to check. It must be possible.

Cheers

Steve

Hi Brian.
Outstanding start, and with the advice of colleagues, I am sure will be an interesting worktable to be pending.
