Hi Flexibull,Ian lurvely job, I have a half finished Airfix Lanc somewhere in the loft, think iI'm going to get it out now I've seen your finished model!!
Tell me what did you use to get the "night black" it looks very authentic.
Flexibull
To get the ''night black'' look i first paint all the black in Humbrol H85 coal black i then dry brush/stipple Humbrol H33 matt black any old way paying attention to area's where the parts would actually get even more dirty, after you've applied the matt black a few times it starts to look even better.
Hi muller,Lovely build Ian! 8)
bet the 1/32 scale Lanc is a monster!!
Just imagine three tamiya 1/48th Lanc's together and your about there 8)
Hi Bryan,It seems a good time to say "Hello", I have seen it suggested on other forums that the dihedral on the Revell Lanc is correct for an aircraft parked on the ground, as I am planning to build the Revell kit can someone please advise me
Bryan
I think i've seen that post on a certain forum about the Dihedral During wartime the only time a Lanc' could be seen with no Dihedral is when it had no bombs on board,it was when they had returned from a mission, thats if they did return and this is the only time the wings where fairly level, while parked up.
It was quite rare to see a Lanc' with no Dihedral because as soon as they where on the ground they where checker over, ''bombed up'' and ready for the next mission, it was the shear weight of the bombs in the lanc's belly that forced the fuselage down thus causing the wings to go up.
Did you know with an unlaiden Lanc' the rear end was up higher and the rear Dowty tail wheel ram was nearly at it's full extent !
The decals in the kit are for wartime lanc's and unless you can get the serials PA474 you could make it as WS * J which is the only flying lanc' where i've seen a lanc' with no Dihedral.... because there ain't no bombs on her
Heres a rear shot of ''Just Jane'' note how theres hardly any Dihedral ! I think revell copied this
