The best defence for those might be mobile jammers for all vehicles. I appreciate that's thousands of vehicles, but start with tanks, SPGs, HIMARS and IFVs.

You can do jammers openly in uncontested environments (Afghanistan/ Iraq). However, in Ukraine anything that emits can be tracked and will receive unwanted attention. It's not impossible just very difficult.

It seems so yes. BAE systems have been manufacturing since the 90's so it is most likely a well sorted vehicle.

The 40mm L70 on the CV90 is a heck of a gun too. Despite being ~70 years old, there's still new ammunition being developed for it.

25 years ago the standard APFSDS was doing 120mm penetration at 1000m. Current rounds are good for 150mm at 1500m. Rounds in development are expected to bump this to 180mm. Pretty much enough to pentrate the sides of any Russian/Soviet-era MBT, and go through any IFV frontally.

Plus, there are all sorts of rounds that go 'BANG' when you want them. The programmable '3P' round is really interesting - good against drones, helicopters and even fast movers, as well as having an airburst mode for use against ground troops.

What do you think it is?

I've read that one of the issues with Storm Shadow is that only the few Su-24 Fencers can carry it. Meanwhile the UAF has a sizeable stock of the weapons and many more MiG-29s. So, my guess is that with these longer pylons we'll soon see MiG-29s with Storm Shadow.

The MiG-29 is the ubiquitous Ukrainian fighter aircraft of this war, a Ukrainian Spitfire, P-51 Mustang, Bf 109 or A6M Zero. Part of me would like to see Ukraine seize the plans for the MiG-35 and produce them for the postwar UAF. I know, the better, far more likely and NATO-aligned choice is the F-16, Gripen and eventually F-35. I suppose I'm thinking of the Ukranian-born designer, and half of MiG, Mikhail Gurevich and how he'd be proud. Instead, with the MiG-29, MiG has reached the end of the line.
