Russian citizens can, and do, own firearms.Bet them Russkies wishin' they had Second Amendment Rights about now.
It does happen outside of the U.S., it just doesn't seem to be newsworthy for some reason.Unlike gun owners in the USA, Russian gun owners are not known for mass shootings, school shootings etc. Yesterdays US news had a two year old killing his mother with a gun. That would not happen anywhere else but the US.
Nor does Switzerland where every military reserve member has military issued arms and ammunition in their homes so probably more guns in public hands per head of population than the US.
Unfortunately this American disease has spread to two European countries recently.
And no I am not anti gun. I have spent many happy hours hunting and culling. I support responsible gun ownership with restrictions on gun types, police and mental checks and annual renewal of licence at a gun range firing a set number of bullets from each gun.
