Not to be too cynical, but they're* enemy combatants who haven't surrendered. What was or is the doctrine of other armies?

It seems that people parachuting from disabled aircraft are protected by some treaties; paratroopers are not.

The conversation, though, was about paratroopers being shot. The Wiki page reads:


All sides in that war shot paratroopers in their silk. They're fair game.
